These vegetarian spring rolls have been part of Syeda’s kitchen for years, a dish she often makes for family gatherings and everyday snacking. Each one is hand-wrapped with care and filled with a colourful mix of fresh cabbage, capsicum, and carrot, seasoned with soy, chilli, and black pepper for a subtle peppery kick.

Once cooked, the wrappers turn beautifully golden and crisp, giving way to the tender, flavourful filling inside. They’re proof that vegetarian food can be every bit as satisfying – the kind of spring roll that disappears quickly from the plate, whether you’re enjoying them on your own, serving them as a starter, or adding them to an Asian-inspired dinner spread.

  • 🍴 Each serve has 6 large spring rolls

    Preparation:

    1. Cook from frozen

    2. Heat 3cm oil in a shallow pan until the temperature reaches 160c.

    3. Gently place spring rolls into oil and fry, rotating often, until golden brown and crispy - approximately 5-7 minutes, being careful of any oil splatter.

    4. Remove from oil and drain off any excess, serve with your choice of dipping sauce.

    AIR FRYER: Spray generously with oil and cook for 3 minutes on 160C

    Absolutely beautiful. Succulent lamb, tasty rice that we couldn't stop eating and perfect sauces to accompany everything. I have never tried this cuisine before but this dish had me googling recipes. Very generous serving and reheated perfectly as per the instructions. Don't hesitate.

    I’ve never tried Afghan food before and this was a real treat.

    Loved the delicately flavoured rice and the beautifully cooked lamb just fell off the bone. The grated carrots were almost caramelised after heating and just added that extra scrumptiousness. The two sauces gave the whole dish an added piquancy. We really enjoyed this.
