I wanted to create a Christmas themed sausage roll. I remember sitting around with friends laughing at the idea of a Turducken sausage roll. I later thought to myself "why not?!" I had a lot of fun coming up with the way I was going to execute it. My teenage son enjoyed all the taste testing. Last year these were a hit and I'm excited to share them this second year in a row with all my FoodSt customers!
And just how do I make a Turducken Sausage Roll? Let me explain...
These delicious gourmet sausage rolls are layered with 3 elements. I begin with sautéing onion, garlic and an assortment of dried herbs in duck fat. I then combine this with two of the fillings: Chicken & Sage and Turkey & Cranberry. The final element is a scrumptious pulled Confit Duck Leg centre. Served with a chicken gravy, each mouth-watering bite is like a special Christmas Day Roast.
