Classic Pub-Style Fish Cakes – Made by Helen with Love

Helen’s salmon fish cakes are a recipe she’s refined for over 15 years, inspired by her favourite British pub meals. Made with both fresh and hot smoked salmon for depth of flavour, balanced with seasoned potato and herbs, then coated in golden panko crumbs, they bake to a crisp outside with tender, flaky salmon inside.

Ready in 25 minutes from frozen, this pack of four comes with Helen’s tangy pickle sauce made from Greek yogurt and mustard. With a proper fish-to-potato ratio and no filler, they’re satisfying enough for dinner with salad, or classic with chips — a wholesome upgrade on supermarket fish cakes.

Preparation Instructions

Cook from frozen*
Step 1 - Preheat Oven 180°C
Step 2 - Place fishcakes on oven tray
Step 3-  Bake 25mins

*Defrost sauce in your fridge overnight

I'm fascinated with cooking and baking since I was little. My first cooking memories are learning ingredients and flavours with my grandmother, in the South of Brazil. I was very young when I baked my first cake, I loved it so much that I would swap any other activity planned to stay at home baking. All my neighbours were always expecting that delicious treat on the weekends. When it comes to cooking, I follow a simple philosophy of believing all products should have great flavour, great texture and also be beautiful to look at.     Corn Fritters are the Best!

    The quantity is perfect. Enough for 2 meals with a side salad, or 1 meal and the rest I can use as sides for another meal. Corn fritters can often be purchased elsewhere (not nearly as good) but they all contain dairy, which I can’t tolerate. So… I get to have a meal that I normally can’t eat, which tastes beautiful and I can use in many ways. 5 Stars.
