"Every mum has her go-to way of getting her kids to eat their veggies, and in our home, it was always a comforting bowl of spinach dal. My mum made it often but my favourite version was the one my grandma made (sorry, Mum!). Nothing fancy, nothing measured, but always just right. This is my grandmother’s spinach dal recipe, passed down with love, now with a little twist of my own. Simple, soulful, and something I grew up with and know I’ll never outgrow."

Warm, nourishing, and packed with goodness, this wholesome Spinach Dal brings together creamy yellow lentils, fresh spinach, and a gentle blend of spices simmered to perfection. Balanced, comforting, and full of flavour, it’s the kind of meal that feels like a hug in a bowl.

Paired with fluffy, fragrant basmati rice, this dish is both hearty and nourishing, rich in protein and fibre, yet light enough for an everyday meal. It’s plant-based, naturally gluten-free.

    Reheating Instructions:

    1. Defrost meal in microwave or fridge overnight.

    2. Reheat in microwave for 3-5 minutes or until hot. (Our foil is microwave safe!)

    🧈 This is a complete meal for one however Keisha recommends serving with a dollop of Ghee (clarified butter) to enhance the richness of this meal.

    Ingredients: Basmati Rice, toor dal, spinach, coriander, green chilli, onion, tomato, garlic, vegetable oil, salt, turmeric, ground coriander.
