A French Bistro Classic, Slow-Cooked And Ready For You
Experience one of France’s most celebrated comfort foods with Matt’s Beef Bourguignon. This isn’t just a stew – it’s a rich, authentic dish made the traditional way, with beef marinated overnight in red wine before being gently slow-cooked for hours until meltingly tender.
"I marinate the beef overnight in red wine to lock in the rich wine flavours. It is then slow-cooked for about 2½ hours in the wine but with lots of goodies, including mushrooms, carrots, speck and broth. Served with buttery mash, it's a classic French dish that you will find in many bistros throughout France!" – Matt
The slow braise with red wine, mushrooms, carrots, smoky speck, and beef stock creates a velvety sauce with incredible depth of flavour. Paired with creamy, buttery mashed potatoes, this single-serve meal delivers all the warmth and sophistication of fine French dining – no plane ticket (or hours of cooking) required.

I've loved cooking since I was old enough to remember. My mother was a very good cook and I just hung around the kitchen learning how to do things. Whilst cooking styles have certainly changed since those time, the basics haven't, and one of the most important 'ingredients' is time (not thyme!). Having time to cook something well and not cut corners will always deliver the best results, and that's what I'm all about, serving up the best and tastiest meal possible!
