Authentic Satay Skewers with Homemade Peanut Sauce
Iris’s chicken satay sticks are a family BBQ favourite that showcase the rich street food traditions of Indonesia and Malaysia. Free-range chicken is marinated in a fragrant paste of lemongrass, galangal, garlic, turmeric, and kaffir lime before being threaded onto skewers. The chicken is left to soak up these aromatics overnight, then cooked quickly so it stays tender inside while developing beautifully caramelised edges on the outside.
The star of the dish is Iris’s satay sauce – made completely from scratch with roasted peanuts and her own curry paste. Cooked slowly with coconut milk, palm sugar, and lime, it develops a nutty, savoury-sweet complexity that no jarred sauce can replicate. Each pack includes 10 skewers (approx. 400g) plus a generous serving of satay sauce. Ready in minutes, they’re perfect for sharing as appetisers, serving at BBQs, or enjoying as a complete meal with rice and salad.

Hi, I'm Iris!
I'm originally from Cambodia. My first memory of connecting with food was when I was little and my mum was always busy in her shop, so she left the house work and cooking to me. As the eldest child in the family, I had to learn to cook and did the shopping as guided by mum. I remember I learnt to cook my first curry chicken when I was just 12 years old.
