Kazi's Khichuri Rice with Lentils (V)

This rice dish is our family's staple. It's something that has been handed down from my grandparents. This is definitely one of my husband's favourite rice dishes. He likes to eat this rice with curry's or simply a fried egg on top.

Rice, lentils and mung daal are mixed together with potatoes, carrots and green peas. I caramelise onions to add a depth of flavour and then cook everything together with spices including ginger, garlic, turmeric, garam masala and green chilli. The result - a melt-in-the-mouth dish that is both delicious and nutritious!

  • 🍴 Double Serve

    Step 1 - Defrost first by using the deforst function on your microwave or overnight in the fridge.
    Step 2 - Microwave for 2-4 minutes in a microwave safe bowl or until heated through

    🍳  Best served with a curry or with a fried egg on top.
    🌶️🌶️ This meal is slightly spicy.

    Ingredients: Rice, onion, ginger, garlic, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, peas, carrots, potatoes, ghee, oil, lentils, mung dal, split chickpeas, green chillies.
