Hi, I'm Anu - FoodSt

Hi, I'm Anu

The kitchens of my childhood were places of great mystery and intrigue... what with the heady aromas and flurry of activities and chatter! As a child, it was forbidden territory because of open coal fired cooking and heavy utensils. These were traditional kitchens in my ancestral home in the heart of Kerala. Needless to say, all I wanted to do was explore this fantastic place and find out the secrets of the treasures it produced, this is where my love of all things food and cooking began.

I began by dabbling in the kitchen, mostly trying recipes passes on word of mouth by the cooks who have been with the family and of course grandmother and mother, who have influenced my style with simple ingredients, correct processes and individual twist.

I cook Indian fare, and love to produce food from across the subcontinent. The roller coaster of flavours is deeply exciting and keeps me engaged like no other. Having lived and studied in quite a few states in India, I have had the opportunity to learn from the people who cook genuine fare.

Cooking is therapeutic for me and I thrive on the happiness I can give to someone who is eating my meals.

Life seems so meaningful when I cook and this is why I joined FoodSt - an amazing platform to share a bit of myself and all that I represent.
