Vegetable Pilau with Beef Stew

This is a traditional Tanzanian family meal eaten throughout Eastern Africa. Tanzanian has slight nuances as it uses 5 distinct spices: black peppercorns, cloves, cumin, cardamom, and cinnamon. Spices, especially cloves, are used more generously in Tanzania.

Lovely flavours

The pilau was really flavoursome, spicy but not hot and the beef was good and chunky and also richly favoured. It was a lovely meal to finish a hectic day with.
