Red Lentil Dahl and Chickpeas

After a trip to Sri Lanka I discovered what good comfort food dahl is and have added chickpeas for added texture and protein. Dahl goes very well with my cardamom basmati rice which is flavoured with cardamon pods, cloves and cinnamon stick.
This Dahl has a base of red lentils cooked with fresh ginger, bay leaves and cinnamon stick. Onion, garlic and spices cooked separately and tomatoes, lemon juice and fresh coriander added to create wonderfully filling dish best served with cardamon steamed basmati rice (available separately). Note: The whole chilli and chilli oil in the image was added as a garnish and is not included in the dish - it's not overly spicy.
 
Contains: Milk and Milk Products
Ingredients: Red lentils, fresh ginger, bay leaves, cinnamon stick, butter, onion, garlic, turmeric, cumin, garam masala, chilli flakes, lemon juice, tomatoes, salt and coriander
Reheating Instructions: Defrost in fridge overnight or in microwave and reheat in microwave or on stove top.
