Rajma Dahl (V)

The beans are soaked overnight and then pressure cooked in a traditional onion and tomato gravy. A tempering of whole spices like Bay leaf & black cardamom and freshly chopped coriander is what starts the entire process. Rajma is quintessentially a Punjabi dish and is the regional speciality belonging to the northern parts of India. It is famously paired with steamed rice and "rajma chawal" is a much loved dish in India as well as Nepal. This recipe is one of the 1st meals that was taught to me by my mother, who learnt it from her friend.
