Shallot Pancakes

These delicious Shallot Pancakes are a lifesaver... even though they are traditionally eaten for breakfast dish in Northern China, they can be enjoyed at any time of the day and make a great snack that cooks straight out of the freezer.

We are not from Northern China originally. I'm Cambodian Chinese, my husband is from Southern China but he just loves Shallot Pancakes! This dish is his baby and I made it my mission to learn to make them from scratch. They are super soft inside and super crispy on the outside. We make these a lot, and then freeze and cook whenever we want them. We love to have Shallot Pancakes as our breakfast and pack some from our kids lunch boxes. These Shallot pancakes are homemade and healthy. I hope everyone will love them too.

Contains: Soybeans and soybean products (eg Miso, soy milk etc), Cereals containing gluten and their products including wheat, rye, barley, oats, spelt

Ingredients: Plain FlourWaterOlive OilSaltSoy SauceSpring OnionWhite Cup Mushroom

Reheating Instruction:
No need to defrost. Please take them out from the freezer, heat up the pan on medium low heat, add a small amount of oil, pan fry each side until golden brown.

Hi, I'm Iris. I'm originally from Cambodia. My first memory of connecting with food was when I was little and my mum was always busy in her shop, so she left the house work and cooking to me. As the eldest child in the family, I had to learn to cook and did the shopping as guided by mum. I remember I learnt to cook my first curry chicken when I was just 12 years old. At first, I wasn't sure that I loved cooking because it was like a duty to me. Cooking really inspired me when I had my own kids. I'm a mum of three and my husband and kids love my food, this has inspired me the most and allows me to learn more about different foods and always cook with love. 

I learnt to make the real Chinese dumpling pastry from my mother in law and this is now the all time food for my family because they absolutely love it and the best things is we can pre-make them and keep them in the freezer.  I hope I can make my family style dumplings for you just as I make for my family. Easy Savoury Snack

I cooked these in my airfryer. It took 2 foes to get it right so if anyone is interested in doing it the same way, I put a little bit of water in the bottom of the airfryer. Sprayed both sides of the pancakes with oil and put them on the grilling platform with a grid over the top and set it for a few minutes on 120° then turned up to 180° until golden brown. Perfect!
