Classic American meatloaf with a few veggies thrown into the mix. The meatloaf is sous vide and then quickly grilled in the oven to caramelise the sweet glaze on top. Broccolini and creamy garlic mash make this a complete meal. Each component has been individually vacuum sealed in order to preserve freshness.
As an American living in Australia, one of the things I miss most are the classic comfort foods the US is known for. There really is nothing quite like it on these cold days. Meatloaf is a staple in the comfort food recipe book, and it allows you to add in some secret veggies that the kids won't realize just how healthy they're eating.
Contains: egg, soybeans and soybean products, cereals containing gluten and their products including wheat, rye, barley, oats, spelt (from Worcestershire Sauce)
Ingredients: Onion, Garlic, Carrots, bread crumbs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, butter, potato, broccolini, cream, salt, parsley, brown sugar, beef mince, egg
Thaw your meal in the fridge. Once defrosted you can do one of two things - reheat the meal in the microwave in 1.5 minute intervals or place all the bags in simmering water and heat through that way.
The meatloaf should go in first and should be in the water for about 20 minutes if fully defrosted. The mashed potatoes will need about 10 minutes, and the broccolini will only need about 3 minutes in the water and should go in last. Please be careful as the bags will be very hot, use tongs to remove from the water and allow to cool for a few minutes before proceeding on to the next step. Then cut open the bags and serve to your liking!
About your cook, Erika
I have loved food ever since I was a young girl. My mother had a tendency to always make delicious food and it made me want to be a food critic of all things. I think I thought it would be the fastest way to taste even more amazing food. As I grew older I realised that I wanted to create great food memories for others and began a career in the hospitality world shortly after university.
To me cooking is a way of bringing people together and I love the magic behind a good meal. I'm an American with a Spanish background, French trained, and living in Australia. It's safe to say, I love pulling from different cuisines and bringing them all together. I enjoy cooking seasonally with lots of fresh herbs.
I love the mission statement that FoodSt is aiming to achieve. In a day and age of digital overload, sitting around the dinner table with a delicious meal is a great way to reconnect with loved ones and reset ourselves. I can't wait to cook for you!
